Mission Statement "Freedom Youth Project Foundation was founded in 2010 as a human rights organization, dedicated to fighting and preventing human trafficking of youth in America primarily through Public Awareness, Prevention and Restoration.  Everything we do is based on our core belief that growing up should be a wonderful and magical time in life that is filled with learning, exploring and discovering one's gifts in life."

Our Initiatives Fall into Three Categories

To this day, Human Trafficking maintains a low profile of awareness by the general public.  Many Americans still have a vague notion of Human Trafficking only as a global issue.  While it is truly a global issue, too many Americans have no idea that it is a huge problem in the United States.  Even those who have some understanding of it happening in America, still are shocked to learn that here in the U.S.,  American born victims out-number foreign nationals by a factor of 20-to-1.  Even more shocking is the fact that the primary target of Traffickers in the US are American girls age 12 to 14.

Our public awareness campaign is called "think freedom campaign."  Public Awareness events is the tool we use to connect with parents and families to let them know that our children and grandchildren are at risk.  This includes speaking at schools, civic organizations, conferences and other events.

"It is important to note that until a parent knows their children are at risk, that parents lacks the ability to know their parental choices impact how attractive their children are to traffickers."

Freedom Youth Project Foundation has spent almost two years developing prevention strategies to teach youth how to recognize the deception Traffickers employ to lead youth into the "trafficked life."

"Traffickers are quite skillful at picking naive targets
finding and exploiting a weaknessdeception and
manipulation.  Their methods are so good they get
victims to go with them willingly. "

Abduction in the trafficking world is almost passive. The skills they often employ would make you think they have had advanced psychological training.

Our prevention initiative project spanned many cases from all over the nation.  It included documenting the many ways that Traffickersapproachconnect and deceive their victims.  By reviewing a large sample of cases it was possible to identify patterns, which could be used to detect deception.  The result was a system developed for youth to teach how to protect themselves by detecting deception.

The result was a ground breaking training called Liars and Posers (tm).  Since it's initial development versions of Liars and Posers training have been adapted for foster youth, foster parents, educators, and social services professionals.

Please consider donating to support our work.  We utilize a mostly volunteer organization and have limited funding from grants.  It is not possible to do our work without public support.  We need your help.  DONATE

Our ultimate goal is to be a catalyst in the development of a facility to provide safe shelter and restoration for victims of DMST, (under-age American victims of sex-trafficking.)  Currently one of the most pressing gaps in dealing with the aftermath of this crime is available facilities with staff trained and dedicated to serving this specific kind of victim.

"Current data suggests that on average, it takes
five to seven years from start to open the doors
for this type of specialized facility for victims
of human trafficking.  Organizations seeking
to open this kind of specialized care facility
find many unique challenges and dilemmas
which must be overcome."
