Big Changes for Texas Human Trafficking Laws

Today, Senator Van de Putte (D-26) continued her legislative leadership against human trafficking by passing Senate Bill 24 and Senate Bill 1436 out of committee. At the public hearing in the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice, Senator Van de Putte joined members of the committee to hear testimony in support of the bills.

SB 24, a comprehensive bill related to the prosecution and punishment of human trafficking, and SB 1436, a bill creating a new offense of continuous human trafficking, were both passed out of committee and are scheduled for consideration by the full Senate in the coming weeks.
